SAE Parent-Teacher Conferences

Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on Tuesday October 21 + Thursday October 23. Both days will be half days for students - SAE dismissal will occur at 12:10 PM.

If you have not yet scheduled your conference with your child's teacher, please contact them directly via Parent Square to get on their conference calendar.

Lockdown Drill Completed Today

SAE had our second emergency drill of the school year today, and we successfully completed a Lockdown Drill with the help of Yarmouth and Dennis PD. As a reminder, we are sure to practice using elementary friendly language. We hope to never have to use these safety procedures but we are prepared in the unlikely event we ever need to!

Introducing Reflex Math for Grades 2 + 3

ExploreLearning Reflex helps all students succeed. We are excited to offer Reflex to grades 2 + 3 at SAE! Adaptive and individualized, Reflex is the most effective system for mastering basic math facts in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division for grades 2+. This was purchased in support of our PTO to help us respond to some numeracy growth needs indicated by our MCAS and MAP data.

Math fact fluency is a foundational skill that predicts standardized test performance across a wide variety of assessment items. It takes a lot of work to ensure that all students receive what they need to be successful. Reflex removes the stress by committing to teachers and students through ongoing research, adaptive technology, and teacher feedback. Parent letters will be sent home to all Gr. 2 and Gr. 3 families with more information.

Important!! Parent Car Line : Drop-off and Pick-Up

Please help our Parent Car Line run safely and smoothly at drop-off + pick-up!

Parents dropping off students by car should pull into the lot at the side of our building in a single line. Parents, please pull all the way up and do not leave your vehicles. Children should exit onto the sidewalk on the passenger side of the car. Thank you for helping keep our students safe!

Scholastic Book Fair! Week of 10/20 - 10/24

We encourage parents to use the site to set up e-wallets for their students, take a peek at what will be offered, and learn about Share the Fair (a giving program that benefits students at our school who need help buying new books).

If you would like to shop with your child, please see the schedule above and plan to join during their class block. The Book Fair will also be open on Parent Conference Days until about 3 PM if you would like to shop then as well.

Jeepers Creepers Trunk or Treat - Tonight!

Platinum Offroad (24 Commercial St in South Yarmouth) is hosting a Trunk or Treat full of family fun tonight October 17 from 5:30 - 7:30 PM. It's sure to be a great time for all!

Fintastic Pumpkin Decorating

On Saturday October 18 from 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy (235 Orleans Rd, North Chatham, MA) is hosting a Finatastic Pumpkin Decorating event. The cost is $15 per person, which includes a pumpkin!

Cape Cod Tech Fall Festival

On Friday October 24, Cape Cod Tech in Harwich is hosting their Fall Festival. The event begins at 3:00 PM and will include a hayride, pumpkins, Touch A Tractor and more!

Trick or Treat at Shark Center Chatham

On Saturday October 25 from 10 AM - 4 PM the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy (235 Orleans Rd, North Chatham, MA) is hosting a Halloween Trick or Treat event for families. The cost is $6 per person, and kids 2 years and younger are free.

Halloweenpalooza 4

The Dennis Recreation Department & The Friends of Dennis Recreation, Inc. invite you to join them for Halloweenpalooza 4 on Saturday October 25 at Johnny Kelley Park in Dennis. This FREE event will be held from 12-4 PM and is open to all!

FCC Yarmouth Trunk or Treat

First Congregational Church of Yarmouth is hosting a Trunk or Treat on Friday, October 31 from 5-6:30 PM. Come at 4:30 PM to decorate your trunk! This is a free event, but please bring canned goods to donate for Hands of Hope!

West Dennis Library Halloween Open House

The West Dennis Library is hosting an open house for trick-or-treaters on Friday, October 31 from 5-7 PM. Their goal is to provide a safe and fun place for children and families to celebrate the holiday with candy, games, crafts, music, a scavenger hunt, and more!
