SAE Playground Grand Opening

The SAE Playground is nearly complete! We invite you to join us for a grand opening event at Station Ave Elementary on Saturday November 15 at 10:00 AM. We will celebrate the brand new playground with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by lots of time to stay & play! We hope that you can join us.

SAE Boosterthon

🎉 LET’S GO! 🎉 Our Station Avenue Fun Run starts TODAY!

We’re raising $20,000 for field trips and school-wide enrichment and need YOUR help.

It only takes a minute to sign up and share your page with friends & family!

Fun Run + Event Day – Tuesday 11/18

We will do the Fun Run race outdoors on Tuesday 11/18 (weather permitting) with two grade levels at a time.

The schedules are below:

Outdoor Boosterthon Schedule

K & 1: 9:15-10:15 AM

2 & 3: 10:15-11:15 AM

Indoor Boosterthon Schedule

K: 9:10-10:05 AM

1: 12:40-1:40 PM

2: 1:50-2:50 PM

3: 10:15-11:15 AM

The Power of One

On Wednesday November 26th, SAE will host our annual Power of One all-school meeting at 10:00 AM. Families are welcome to attend!

In conjunction with The Power of One, SAE is hosting a food donation drive to support the Yarmouth Food Pantry. With recent cuts to benefits and soaring inflation, food insecurity is at an all-time high.

The YFP supports 12,000 registered clients on the Cape. You can help!

They are appreciative of all donations, but are in special need of the following items:

Cereal

Jelly / jam

Pasta (they have plenty of rice!)

Brand-name canned tuna

Canned chicken

Progresso canned soup (they have plenty of Campbell's!)

Diapers (all sizes)

Please send donations into school with your children beginning on Monday November 10th.

Each classroom will have a designated donation location.

This year, we are challenging SAE families to double their donations from last year!!

Everything helps, and we appreciate all assistance in supporting your fellow community members!

Building Reading Confidence One Word at a Time

High-frequency words might be small, but they make a big difference!

Spend a few minutes each day practicing the words from the Dolch Word list together.

When your child can spot these words quickly, reading becomes easier and more exciting.

You’ll be amazed at how much your child’s reading confidence grows, one word at a time!

Report Cards : Arriving Digitally in December

SAE Report Cards will be sent digitally this year!

We will be emailing student report cards to families based upon the most up to date information that we have in PowerSchool.

Please ensure your contact info & Student Verification Forms are updated so that we are able to easily provide you with your students report card.

A Note from the SAE Library

Dear SAE families,

Hope you are enjoying reading new books from our school library. Please help remind your child to keep their library books in their backpack everyday. You can identify our school books by the barcode sticker on the back cover. This will help us to have more books for all students to read throughout the year. Happy reading!

Box Tops for Education

Did you know that SAE is a Box Tops for Education school?

Our PTO has a goal to raise $500 in Box Tops this year and would love your help!

It is super simple for families to enroll:

Cape Cod Family Resource Center - Updated Hours

The Cape Cod Family Resource Center (29 Bassett Lane in Hyannis) has shared that their Food Pantry & Diaper Depot is now open with new hours beginning November 1. Please see the flyer above!

CCFRC also offers many *free* programs and classes for parents and caregivers, including an Active Parenting Program and Grandparents Raising Grandchildren small groups. Programs are added and change throughout the year. Check out https://capecodfamilyresourcecenter.org/ for more info!

Free Youth Physicals from Convenient MD

Convenient MD is providing FREE youth physicals for K-12 and undergraduate students at all locations.

The 2 locations closest to us are 40 Davis Straits, Falmouth, MA 02540 and 140 Samoset Street (suite 2), Plymouth, MA 02360. You must bring a printed voucher with you to receive a free physical. To have a voucher sent home with your child, please email Libby Spencer (spencere@dy-regional.k12.ma.us). This offer expires 12/31/2025.

Community Events

Kids Gratitude Challenge

Gratitude is the attitude! Join South Dennis Library for a monthlong Kids Gratitude Challenge in November - kids from 3-12 can participate and complete challenges to win prizes.

Yarmouth Dennis Soccer Club Tryouts

Yarmouth Dennis Spring Travel Soccer is holding tryouts on November 2 at the former Mattacheese Middle School (400 Higgins Crowell Rd, West Yarmouth). There is no fee to tryout and no obligation if selected. You must register at ydsoccer.org by October 31.

Yarmouth Town Libraries Youth Services Events

November is a busy month for Yarmouth Town Libraries Youth Services!

Check out the calendar above for loads of fun activities for kids of all ages.

Yarmouth Town Libraries also host a lot of events for adults, both in-person and via Zoom.

Share a Meal: Thanksgiving with The Merc

The Merc in Dennis Village is cooking for Thanksgiving, and they are providing a great way to help D-Y families in need with their Share a Meal program.
