On Wednesday November 26th, SAE will host our annual Power of One all-school meeting at 10:00 AM. Families are welcome to attend!
In conjunction with The Power of One, SAE is hosting a food donation drive to support the Yarmouth Food Pantry. With recent cuts to benefits and soaring inflation, food insecurity is at an all-time high.
The YFP supports 12,000 registered clients on the Cape. You can help!
They are appreciative of all donations, but are in special need of the following items:
Cereal
Jelly / jam
Pasta (they have plenty of rice!)
Brand-name canned tuna
Canned chicken
Progresso canned soup (they have plenty of Campbell's!)
Diapers (all sizes)
Please send donations into school with your children from
Monday November 10th - Wednesday November 26th.
Each classroom will have a designated donation location.
This year, we are challenging SAE families to double their donations from last year!!
Everything helps, and we appreciate all assistance in supporting your fellow community members!

Hello SAE Families,
As we enter November, if your Kindergarten student has had a recent physical with immunizations, please send a copy to my office or have your student’s pediatrician fax it to the school at 508-760-5601. If your Kindergartner is still missing immunizations (i.e., the second doses of MMR and Varicella) and has a physical scheduled for December, please make a nurse appointment at either your physician’s office to obtain the immunizations or at the VNA immunization clinic (508-957-7423). I am required by state law to file an immunization survey by the end of December. Missing immunizations will give our school a noncompliant rating. I would appreciate your help in keeping our school compliant with the state regulations.Â
I know that it has been said before, but the weather has been changing. Please
make sure your child has a coat with them each day when they come to school. Hats and gloves or mittens will be needed soon. The playground can be breezy and can be cold. If weather allows, students will have outdoor recess. It is better to have the coat and need to take it off then to have nothing to put on.
It is also a good idea to pack a change of clothing in your child’s backpack. I have seen an increase in visits to my office for a change of clothing. There is only a limited supply of clothing in the clinic. Your child will be more comfortable in their own change of clothes rather than a mix and match of what is here at school.
Thank you for your attention to these matters. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at dipretes@dy-regional.k12.ma.us or call me at 508-760-5600, option 1.
Warmly,
Sharon DiPrete, BSN, RN, NCSN

Our Superintendent Marc Smith sent out a message late last week regarding donation collection for Jamaica, which was recently severely impacted by Hurricane Melissa. Many in our D-Y community are deeply concerned for their loved ones back home, and we want to help. As a District, we’re collecting non-perishable donations to fill barrels that will be shipped to trusted organizations providing relief in the most affected areas. Donation boxes will be located at each school from Wednesday November 12 - Friday November 21. Please bring any donations to the front office and we will ensure they are added to our SAE box!
All contributions are greatly appreciated.
Most needed items:
Toiletries & essentials: toothbrushes, toothpaste, bar soap, diapers, wipes, candles, flashlights, bug spray, tarps, rope
Canned goods: mackerel, sardines, baked beans, red kidney beans, condensed milk, corned beef, tuna, sausages
Dry goods: instant oatmeal, boxed mac & cheese, peanut butter, sugar, white rice, cup o' soup, ramen noodles
Your generosity will bring comfort and hope to those facing great hardship. Thank you for supporting our Jamaican community during this difficult time.

SAE Report Cards will be sent digitally this year!
We will be emailing student report cards to families based upon the most up to date information that we have in PowerSchool.
Please ensure your contact info & Student Verification Forms are updated so that we are able to easily provide you with your student's report card.

Dear SAE families,
Hope you are enjoying reading new books from our school library. Please help remind your child to keep their library books in their backpack everyday. You can identify our school books by the barcode sticker on the back cover. This will help us to have more books for all students to read throughout the year. Happy reading!
Warmly, Ms. T
