SAE Playground Featured in Cape Cod Times!

Our playground grand opening on Saturday 11/15 was shared by the Cape Cod Times this week!

We were lucky enough to have Station Ave's first Principal, Sharon Hartley, available to join Principal Valerie Kelly and SAE All-Star Pat MacArthur with the ribbon cutting ceremony, along with over 200 students and their families. Thanks to all who were able to join us for the event, and our awesome community for helping us to accomplish this great update for our school.

Students are really enjoying the new playground this week, and the grand opening was a lot of fun!

We're looking forward to many more years of playtime for all at SAE!

Special shout out to Harbor Fox for donating coffee, hot cocoa, and donuts to the event!!

The Power of One

On Wednesday November 26th, SAE will host our annual Power of One all-school meeting at 10:00 AM. Families are welcome to attend!

In connection with The Power of One, SAE is hosting a food donation drive to support the Yarmouth Food Pantry. With recent cuts to benefits and soaring inflation, food insecurity is at an all-time high.

The YFP supports 12,000 registered clients on the Cape. You can help!

They are appreciative of all donations, but are in special need of the following items:

Cereal

Jelly / jam

Pasta (they have plenty of rice!)

Brand-name canned tuna

Canned chicken

Progresso canned soup (they have plenty of Campbell's!)

Diapers (all sizes)

Please send donations into school with your children from

Monday November 10th - Wednesday November 26th.

Each classroom will have a designated donation location.

This year, we are challenging SAE families to double their donations from last year!!

Everything helps, and we appreciate all assistance in supporting your fellow community members!

Reminder: Upcoming Half Day + Thanksgiving Vacation

Please mark your calendars:

All D-Y schools will have a half day on Wednesday November 26: SAE will be dismissed at 12:10 PM.

All D-Y schools will be closed on Thursday November 27 + Friday November 28.

We hope that you enjoy this extended weekend with your families and friends!

Report Cards are Arriving Digitally in December

SAE Report Cards will be sent digitally this year!

We will be emailing student report cards to families based upon the most up to date information that we have in PowerSchool.

Please ensure your contact info & Student Verification Forms are updated so that we are able to easily provide you with your student's report card.

A Note from the SAE Nurse's Office

Hello SAE Families,

On December 1 + 2, Polished Teeth dental services will be at SAE for their first scheduled visit this school year. All of the students who have been signed up will be seen for a dental cleaning.

As our weather keeps changing, please dress your child according to the weather. A coat, gloves, mittens and hat are welcome on a chilly playground. Also, please remember to put a change of clothes in your student’s backpack. Accidents do happen. Children are always more

comfortable in their own clothing. Please put your child’s name in their coats, sweatshirts and

clothing. If lost, this will help in a speedy return. We have a growing Lost and Found.

On another note, if your student is scheduled to have a new physical and/or immunizations,

please make sure to have a copy sent to the clinic either by fax, or your student can bring a

copy to school. The school’s fax number is (508) 760-5601.

This Thanksgiving break is a good time to go outside and enjoy some fresh air and exercise.

Exercise elevates your mood, especially this time of year when we spend so much time indoors and it tends to be darker longer. This is important to stay healthy both in mind and body.

Dear SAE families,

Hope you are enjoying reading new books from our school library. Please help remind your child to keep their library books in their backpack everyday. You can identify our school books by the barcode sticker on the back cover. This will help us to have more books for all students to read throughout the year. Happy reading!

Our PTO has a goal to raise $500 in Box Tops this year and would love your help!

Free Youth Physicals from Convenient MD

Convenient MD is providing FREE youth physicals for K-12 and undergraduate students at all locations.

The 2 locations closest to us are 40 Davis Straits, Falmouth, MA 02540 and 140 Samoset Street (suite 2), Plymouth, MA 02360. You must bring a printed voucher with you to receive a free physical. To have a voucher sent home with your child, please email Libby Spencer (spencere@dy-regional.k12.ma.us). This offer expires 12/31/2025.

Gratitude is the attitude! Join South Dennis Library for a monthlong Kids Gratitude Challenge in November - kids from 3-12 can participate and complete challenges to win prizes.

November is a busy month for Yarmouth Town Libraries Youth Services!
